GROW YOUR HEART - Volunteer with Seniors!
The Outreach for Older Adults Volunteer Program serves seniors who live in the following locations:
- Northwest Outreach Areas: All of NW Calgary, Panorama Hills, Coventry Hills, Harvest Hills, Beddington Hgts, Huntington Hills, Thorncliffe, Greenview, Tuxedo Park, and Winston Heights/Mountview.
- Central Outreach Areas: St. Andrews Hgts, Parkdale, Hounsfield Hgts, W. Hillhurst, Hillhurst, Rosedale, Sunnyside, Crescent Hgts, Renfrew, Bridgeland/Riverside, Mayland Hgts, Mayland, Sunalta, Scarboro, Downtown, Beltline, Eau Claire, Chinatown, East Village, Mission, Ramsey, Inglewood, and Alyth/Bonnybrook.

Current volunteer opportunities include:
Friendly Visitor: A volunteer will be matched with a frail, isolated and/or housebound senior living in the NW and Central Outreach Areas to provide companionship through regular social visits.
Telephone Reassurance: A volunteer will be matched with a an isolated and lonely senior living in the NW and Central Outreach Areas to develop an on-going relationship and to check on the senior’s well being through regular phone calls.
Program Assistant: A volunteer is needed to help isolated seniors to plan and participate in social events that will provide them with opportunities to become more connected to their communities. Location: 5000 Bowness Rd NW.
Other opportunities: Volunteers are needed to assist in the office, serve on our board, and to help with event planning and Income Tax Clinics. Location: Bowness
BSAA Membership: BSAA membership ensures that members have the opportunity to have their voices heard as well as have a say in policy changes and organization direction. Additionally, members will receive a bi-annual newsletter and educational opportunities dealing with seniors' concerns.
Membership Benefits include:
Full Member - Vote at membership meetings, may nominate board members, and are eligible to hold office.
A full member must reside within the City of Calgary and pay the Annual membership fee of $2 per year.
Associate Member - May nominate board members, and are eligible to hold office.
An Associate member is open to individuals, agencies, associations, programs, corporations, or partnerships interested in promoting and supporting the initiatives of the BSAA. An Affiliate member is a non-voting member.

The BSAA is a registered charity and donations are tax-deductible.
